The Art of Time, Bandra

The Art of Time, Bandra, is the first of its kind luxury watch retail concept in India, which clubs a select few top global watch brands together in a single store. As the first official presence in India of brands like Cartier, IWC, Jaeger LeCoultre and Roger Dubois, it was critical that the space embodied all the best aspects of these luxury brands in a unique and striking space, while ensuring each brand had its space to shine.

The site is at the intersection of 2 major shopping streets in Bandra, a beautiful double height space with a curved glass façade. Keeping the interior simple and white helped to highlight the double height space and accentuate the sweeping curve of the building and the mezzanine within.  Beautiful round chandeliers are hung in this space and can be seen from the street above the branding.

The black back-painted glass entrance portal is dramatic as well as sophisticated and creates a timeless and hushed aura. The black signage with gold letters showing the logo establishes the brand and helps to create a unique look for the store. Upstairs, the elegant and chic cabin spaces are made up of white walls, dark wood panelling, Italian marble flooring and white back-painted glass.

The Art of Time, South Mumbai

The Art of Time store in South Mumbai came as a sequel to the original store in Bandra. As with the Bandra store the luxury brands were the main focus here. Therefore, it was important to make sure that the interiors provided a luxurious and quiet elegance, while allowing the merchandise on display to shine. The aesthetic and design of the store became critically important in order to provide uniformity and a sophisticated design language that tied together the different brands’ presence and furniture.

A beautiful, curved wood-panelled wall encloses the administrative space here, becoming one of the key features in the store. The wood panelling also makes an appearance in the Director’s cabin –an elegant space that was styled for comfort and privacy. We created striking bespoke circular light coves in the ceiling, inspired by the beauty of watch gears. One can get a view of these from the street through the upper part of the glass façade as well as throughout the store. The iconic black glass entrance from the Bandra store is featured here as well.
